A) Title of the Project: Strengthening Women’s Participation Especially from
B) Project Objective: To increase meaningful participation of women especially from marginalized communities in local governance, decision making positions, elections and political parties.
C) Impact of the Project: Increased meaningful participation of women especially from marginalized communities in local governance, decision making positions, elections and political parties.
D) Outcomes of the Project: 
  • Women’s voices for claiming their rights to participation in local governance, decision making, elections and political parties increased
  • Local people especially women from marginalized groups have increased access to income generating opportunities
  • Govt. and political parties initiated making/amending laws/bi-laws, policies and programs GESI friendly in compliance with international HR instruments and implement them effectively
E) Outputs of the Intervention:
  • Capacity of local women and potential women leaders especially from marginalized community enhanced and mobilized for asserting their rights
  • Capacity of women enhanced and their access to resources/services are facilitated
  • Government and political parties are sensitized/pressurized and are committed to make/amend GESI friendly laws/bi-laws, policies and programs
F) Key Project Activities:
  1. Community Women Group Formation and Mobilization
  2. Training on women’s rights, women in politics and decision making
  3. Organize awareness campaigns on women’s rights, women in politics, and govt. free services (health/education/agriculture)
  4. Conduct study/review and publication of implementation gap of existing laws and policies of govt. and political parties
  5. Organize community dialogue, interaction and motivational meetings focusing on women’s rights and their participation in politics, elections, decision making
  6. Organize district level dialogue, interactions and public hearing events
  7. Provide district level skill development training and/or refresher for economically deprived households
  8. Organize district level consultative workshop and linkages among service providers and concerned institutions
  9. Establish resource centre (RC) in the project districts
  10. Organize central and district level interactive workshops for policy advocacy
  11. Conduct lobby and advocacy visits to the line ministries, political parties and other responsible agencies
  12. Build linkages and referral for IG support and skill development

Direct Right Holders: Direct beneficiaries (DBs) of the project are marginalized and deprived community women (include Limbu, Rai, Gurung, Magar, Tamang, Bhote, Damai, Kami, Sarki, Rajbansi, Tajpuriya, Yadav, Satar, Jhangar, Baniya, Majhi, Musahar, Kurmi, Thakur, Sudhi, Sunuwar, Santhyal, Dhimal, Teli, Khatwe, Kalwar, Haluwai, Paswan, Tatma, Dhanuk, Tatwa, Tharu, Dushad, Patar, Dhatimudo etc. in the project VDCs), women political leaders, male political leaders, CSO members along with govt. officials and major political parties. Indirect Right Holders: Community women from all other 69 districts, specifically the women from around the project sites, political parties, state and women HR organizations will be benefited from the project initiatives K) Project Implementation Strategies:
