Since the inception in 2002, Jagaran Nepal has been continuously advocating for the meaningful proportional representation in local governance and decision making. JN is a pioneer organization working for women inclusion in politics and contributing for democratic governance and is able to reach more than 25 districts of Nepal including the most challenged Karnali zone in partnership with local organizations. It’s been working towards increasing awareness on human rights, women rights, democratic governance and sustainable peace. It’s also been contributing to enhance leadership of potential women leaders from different political parties, community and social institutions at different level.

As a part of continuous advocacy and lobby, awareness raising program, pressurizing concerned authorities , JN formed a collective campaign (SAJHA ABHIYAN) which is currently being followed and supported by various organizations for Women’s Participation in the election in which hundreds of organizations are members of the network. Apart from forming networks, JN has been involved in lobby/advocacy visit to different political parties, conducting national dialogue on issues of women’s participation and leadership, developing different IEC materials and circulating to almost 40 districts of Nepal awaring the people about the importance of women’s political participation and leadership.
